Construction Grab Driver

Overview

We are seeking an experienced C1 Grab Driver to join our construction and waste management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a Grab Lorry, carrying out material deliveries, collections, and site support across various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a C1 category Grab Lorry (HIAB/Clamshell) in compliance with road safety and company standards.
• Load and unload construction materials, aggregates, and waste using the hydraulic grab arm.
• Deliver materials to and from construction sites, suppliers, and depots safely and on schedule.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and complete daily walkaround checks, reporting any defects.
• Adhere to all health & safety, environmental, and transport regulations.
• Assist site teams with material handling or groundworks as required.
• Maintain accurate delivery and collection records (tickets, manifests, etc.).
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site managers, and customers.

Requirements

• Valid C1 Driving Licence
• Valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card.
• HIAB / Grab (Lorry Loader) Certification (essential).
• Proven experience operating grab lorries or similar plant in a construction environment.
• Good understanding of road safety, load security, and manual handling.
• Strong work ethic with attention to safety and detail.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, or overtime if required.
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificates.
• Experience delivering to live construction sites.
• Basic mechanical or vehicle maintenance knowledge.
